SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). Diagnosis may
determine that the MIL was caused by a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1270 - Intake
Manifold Runner (Swirl) Performance. This condition may occur most often on low mileage
vehicles.
The DTC may be due to clips which may cause mechanical linkage to bind. The
mechanical linkage is used to operate the swirl chamber valves that are located in each
runner of the intake manifold.
